Applying for a Building Permit
The first step to getting a building permit is to complete an application form. After we receive your application, our permit technicians will review them for sufficiency. Once your application is approved you will be given a permit number for tracking. When you call or make inquiries online, please refer to the permit number you were given.
Some simple permits (such as residential fences, mechanical change-out, re-roofing) may be issued over the counter at the time we receive your application. Other structural permits usually require plan review before they can be issued.
Contractors must be registered with Osceola County Contractor Licensing before applying for a permit.
Once your application has been approved, you may then supply building plans & specs for review. Please submit only one (1) set of plans & specs. We no longer require 3 copies.
If you choose to submit digitally, please ensure all plans are digitally signed & sealed as required here.
You may schedule an inspection using one of the methods below:
Online at the Osceola County Permit Center. Type your full permit
number (including the dash, if any) in the search box to find your permit's page. If you permit is issued, you'll be able to
schedule inspections for it.

A Certificate of Completion can be issued after final inspection for specific permits on building or structures where there is no occupancy.
