Benefits and Compensation
The Benefits and Compensation function of Human Resources insures that Osceola County can attract and retain employees by providing them a benefit and compensation package that is competitive with other employers in both government and private sectors. Some of the benefits that Osceola County offers include Medical, Dental, Short and Long Term Disability, Life, and Vision insurance, in addition to tax-deferred investment savings and participation in the Florida Retirement System.
Training and Staff Development
It is the mission of Human Resources Training and Development to provide comprehensive training and educational programs for all personnel. This function is essential in ensuring compliance with all Federal and State mandated training requirements such as Sexual Harassment, Diversity, and Fraud and Ethics, just to name a few. Additionally, our training team is responsible for providing employees and managers with personal and professional development classes to continually update them on new practices or procedures. Safety and Wellness classes round out their responsibility and can be directly accountable for the success of the County’s health and Workers' Compensation programs.
In essence, this is the function most employees recognize as Human Resources. Employee Relations involves the body of work concerned with maintaining employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, and morale.
