The Osceola County Animal Shelter balances the health, public safety, and welfare needs of the people and animals of Osceola County. It responsibly and humanely provides nourishment and a safe environment for unwanted, stray, abused, and impounded animals, and facilitates the placement of stray and unwanted animals and pets in desirable homes through pet adoptions. The shelter also educates the public on responsible companion animal ownership, prevention of cruelty to animals and animal over-population.
The Osceola County Animal Control Services Division provides a variety of services for the citizens of Osceola County. The main duty of the officers of Animal Control is to enforce the Animal Control ordinance that is in place for Osceola County. In addition to enforcing the ordinance, Animal Control Officers take bite case reports, offer advice to the public on responsible pet ownership, advise the public about the proper procedures for a complaint, pick up trapped animals, and follow up on previous calls to ensure regulations are being followed.
