At their January 10, 2011 regular Board meeting, Osceola County Commissioners approved a transportation impact fee moratorium on all new non-residential construction.
Osceola County Commissioners proclaimed Monday, January 3, 2011 as Osceola County Military Appreciation Day at their regular Board meeting Monday. Recently-returned Osceola County School Board Member on military leave Julius Melendez accepted the proclamation, along with recently-returned county employee John Montague and local veterans.
At their regular Board meeting last Monday, Osceola County Commissioners voted unanimously to direct staff to draft an ordinance imposing a 12-month moratorium on the collection of transportation impact fees for all new non-residential construction or expansion.

A native of Osceola County Brandon Arrington was elected to the Osceola County Commission in 2008. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board and previously served as Vice Chairman. He has assumed duties and leadership roles on other boards regionally such as current Vice Chairman of MetroPlan, Vice Chairman of Lynx, Chairman of Transportation for Disadvantaged, Sunrail Board of Directors, East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, Congress of Regional Leaders, Advisory Board for the Kissimmee UCF Incubator, and last but not least currently serving as Chairman of Workforce Central Florida where Brandon is working to bring more accountability to the agency. He is an active member of Rotary and a mentor with Take Stock in Children.
Brandon and his wife Kristen live off of Pleasant Hill Road and graduated from Osceola High School together. You can often find Brandon outdoors taking advantage of our great weather whether it’s out golfing or skateboarding with his dogs. Except on Saturdays in the fall you can find Brandon glued to his couch rooting on his Alma matter Auburn University football team where Brandon graduated with a BFA.
