Central Processing Unit

The Central Processing Unit also work four twelve hour shifts covering a 24-7 schedule. Each shift run by a civilian supervisor and five staff are responsible for making sure each person brought through our doors are being legally detained by checking each document submitted by the arresting agency. They are also responsible for checking the computer system for active warrants, as well as preparing each detainee’s paperwork for their initial appearance in front of a judge within 24 hours of arrest. They are responsible for maintaining the inmate files and all the documentation it holds. They receive court documents and fulfill the orders as directed by the courts. They calculate sentence time, set and adjust release dates, monitor initial appearance, and coordinate inmate transfers in and out of the facility. They manage an inmate population of over 1100 inmates daily. On the opposite end, they are also responsible for the clerical part of the release process; ensuring releases are done in a timely and accurate manner.
