Chaplaincy Services

Chaplain Les Plett oversees all religious programming through the support of over 100 volunteers. Such programming includes, but is not limited to weekly church services, worship and educational groups, individual pastoral counseling and crisis response services to families. They recruit and screen religious volunteers, and coordinate these volunteers to provide needed religious programming.

The Chaplain conducts a faith-based program at the Jail called "Truth & Freedom.” The objectives of this program are to equip addicts to do an honest self-assessment, build a "faith-based" relationship with God, and develop some life related purpose and goals, participate in a support group and learn the power of submission and surrender. All the courses taught are designed to help the Program members achieve these objectives.

The Chaplain's function is partially funded through the Inmate Welfare Fund. No tax dollars are used to support this program. The chaplain raises funds from outside sources to help provide religious materials.
