A Gift for Teaching
In April 2006, Osceola County Corrections Department formed a partnership with A Gift for Teaching Program. Being involved in this program allows inmates the opportunity to give back to the community by using their skills to transform surplus raw material into valuable educational tools for students in need. Classes are available to both male and female inmates.
Note: Inmates that are sentenced to complete State or County Community Service can sign-up for this class to fulfill their requirements while incarcerated.
To date the following items have been donated:
- Total hours donated: 3696
- Total quantity of pieces completed: 40,968
- Total value of completed pieces: $109,011.90
