Change of Address Notification Forms

Over the last three years staff in the 911 Communications Department has been working diligently to transfer all of the county’s raw historical address data into a new technically advanced computerized format that provides mapping assistance to our emergency response providers. This project was of high importance as it adds to the safety and well being of our citizens.

During this process we became aware of some discrepancies with the original addressing information. In many instances, homes and/or businesses are on corner lots and are not facing the direction the plans originally indicated they would be. In order to provide the best possible emergency response service to your home or business all agencies use a standardized practice that ensures all homes are addressed based on the street the front of their home or business faces. At this time we are attempting to correct situations where errors in this standardized practice have occurred. We recognize that this may cause an inconvenience for some, however, your safety is of paramount importance an we want to make sure that any unit responding to a 911 call to your home gets their in the quickest manner possible.

Currently, we are working closely with the City of St. Cloud to locate and correct any improper addressing within the City of St. Cloud. Upon completion of this phase of the project, we will work closely with the City of Kissimmee on correcting any discrepancies in their community.

If you receive an Address Notification Form indicating there is a change in your address, the telephone company will be notified of the change to ensure proper 911 call routing. We are asking that you post the proper numbers as soon as possible so that emergency services can locate you, but you will have ample time to make any address changes with the post office and other businesses, family or friends that you will need to notify. Our staff will follow up on the address changes after a 60 day period.

We again thank you for your assistance as we move through this difficult process and your continued patience as we work to ensure the safety of your home, family, or business.

We encourage you to contact the 911 Communications Department at 407-742-5911 if you have any further questions about this process or issues with the notification form you received.
