Osceola County, Florida - Osceola County Fire Rescue crews continue to work through the rubble of the Vacation Lodge Maingate Motel to extinguish smoldering hot spots. Fire Marshal personnel from the state and county continue their investigation of cause and origin. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be released at that time.
"The property is large and we're going through each area methodically to make sure the fire is out 100 percent," explained Fire Chief Rich Collins. "In addition, through the combined efforts of several agencies, we have five canines on scene going through the rubble to ensure that everyone got out safely at the time the fire occurred. We should be completing our efforts by the end of the week."
