Fire Prevention Fee Schedule

The following requirements shall pertain to all permits issued by the Fire Rescue Department, Office of the Fire Marshal and covered by the codes in effect in Osceola County. Nothing contained herein shall relieve any person of the responsibility for obtaining any permits and paying any other fees which may be required by other codes adopted by Osceola County or by the State of Florida, but which may not be part of this resolution. All permit fees shall be paid in full prior to issuance of any permit and prior to commencement of the work authorized by said permit.

  • Work Done without Permit Fee is assessed when work for which a permit is required is commenced prior to the obtaining of a permit.
  • Refunds will not be granted on permits of less than $100.00. Refund requests shall be made on a "Permit Refund Request" form, as provided by Osceola County, with the original permit and plans attached, signed by both the owner and the contractor, and notarized. Refunds will only be considered if requested within 30 days of the issue date of the permit and provided no inspections have been made by the Fire Rescue, Office of the Fire Marshal. Refund amounts are limited to 75% of the original permit fee in excess of $100.00.
  • Change in Contractor requests shall be made on a "Notice of Contractor Change" form as provided by the Osceola County. All requirements of that form shall be met and the above fee shall be charged.
  • Copy Charges will be charged per page for legal or letter size. Plans will be charged at the going rate directly to our private vendor.
  • A Permit Research Fee is payable at the time of request and not refundable.
  • Computer Reports Fee includes information on contractors, fire permits, fire inspections, etc...
  • Life Safety Inspection for Temporary Certificate of Occupancy Fee will be charged for the life safety inspection leading to the issuance of a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO). Fee to be paid at time of request.

  • Plan Review Fees are paid at time of submittal and are non-refundable.
  • Plan Revisions - The initial review fee includes one set of revisions to address initial plan review comments. All subsequent revisions and all those submitted after permit issuance will be charged at the above rate. All revision fees shall be paid at time of submittal and are non refundable.
  • Permit Fees shall be based on a copy of the original signed contract or a detailed cost estimate that meets the approval of the Fire Marshal.

* Construction Valuation shall include all labor and material costs needed to construct and complete a building or structure from unimproved property through to completion and/or issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy. Valuation shall be determined using one of the following methods: (a) Copy of signed construction contract; (b) Detailed cost estimate; or (c) Using the latest published Building Valuation Data as provided by the Southern Building Code Congress International or International Code Council, assuming good or average construction and the Orlando area modifier.

  • Plan Revisions /Alterations - The initial review fee includes one set of revisions / alterations to address initial plan review comments.
  • All subsequent revisions / alterations will be charged as in description above per submittal.

Fire Inspections

Re-inspection charges as of a result of work not being ready on the date and time the inspection was requested or work rejected due to failure to meet the applicable code requirements or where there was a failure to call for a required inspection or when not enough time was scheduled to complete the inspection or when inspections are canceled after the inspection cut-off time established by the department. This will apply to all Inspections unless otherwise noted.

Fire System Permits requiring multiple inspections to complete the initial inspection and testing process will be charged a continual rate of $65.00 for each inspection. For inspections and re-inspections where there is a need for multiple inspectors, the fee shall be per inspector. All re-inspections will be progressively charged using Chart "A". This will include the fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, specialty fire protection systems, hood and duct extinguishing systems and large building finals. There may be from time to time other inspections that fall under this category that are not listed here. These will be viewed on a case by case basis by the Fire Marshal.

  • Fire Alarm System Performance Test includes Rough in and other required testing, including re-inspections, will be charged each time as shown on Chart "A".
  • Fire Sprinkler System/Standpipe System/ Hydrostatic Performance Test includes Rough in and other required testing, including re-inspections will be charged each time as shown on Chart "A".
  • Spray Booth Test and Inspection: Refer to Chart "A".
  • Specialty Fire Protection Systems (FM 200, etc.): Refer to Chart "A".
  • Hood and Duct Extinguishment System: Refer to Chart "A".
  • Adult Congregate Living Facilities (ALF): Refer to Chart "A".
  • Foster Care Facilities: Refer to Chart "A".
  • Day Care Facilities: Refer to Chart "A".
  • Hazardous materials storage and use: Refer to Chart "A".
  • Certificate of Occupancy Inspection and buildings with no fire systems (Building Finals): Refer to Chart "A".
