The mission of the Housing Program is two-fold. The first is to administer community development grants that may be allocated for use in Osceola County. This includes the State Housing Initiative Partnership. The second is to administer the counties Section 8 Housing Assistance program.
Goals
To establish housing programs by addressing the areas of critical need as indicated in specific work programs previously reviewed. The Housing Assistance Program is written for a three-year period and during the implementation period, assessments will be made to determine if and when changes are needed.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program Request for Proposals (RFP)
The Osceola County Human Services Division is interested in funding a wide range of services for the residents within the unincorporated areas of Osceola County and the City of St. Cloud.
Projects should enhance, expand, or create services that contribute to a continuum of care that is comprehensive and consistent with the county’s U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) proposed Consolidated Plan.
Applications responding to the RFP may be made by the governing bodies of 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit organizations, and governmental entities.

First Time Home Buyers
This is a REQUIRED class for the Down Payment Assistance program. During the class, you will learn about all aspects of getting ready to buy your first house, including money management, understanding your credit, how to find your house, choosing a home-buying professional, choosing the right mortgage, home buyer's rights and many other topics related to this process.
All Down Payment Assistance applicants and co-signers MUST attend and receive this class certificate. This class is $5.00* and is also open to those not seeking Down Payment Assistance, but would like to get educated on all aspects on how to prepare themselves to buy a house.
