Appointed by the City of Orlando and Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties, the 26-member Commission represents government, non-profit organizations, the business community and civic and religious organizations. The Commission has developed recommendations and strategies to end involuntary homelessness in Central Florida.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development estimates that there are nearly 8,000 homeless in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties, affecting people of every race and age group, with as many as up to one-third being children.
