Sex Offender Arrested for Failing to Comply

On November 2, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Unit arrested Steven Hassan-Lopez Farahat after he failed to comply with sex offender registration laws. Law enforcement in New York were looking for Farahat after he absconded. Detectives located Farahat at 2027 Grande Court in Kissimmee. Farahat had been residing at this apartment for three months but failed to notify the Sheriff's Office. Farahat was arrested for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration.

Florida Statutes require registered sex offenders to notify law enforcement within 48 hours of establishing a new residence. Failure to comply is a third degree felony. Farahat was convicted of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct Victim Under 16 Years Old by Offender 18 Years or Older in June of 2004 in Osceola County.
