The arts are alive and well and jammin' in Osceola County!

Published On: Tuesday Dec. 20, 2005

Ring in the New Year by coming out and supporting our talented youth in the arts in our community!

Starting December 28th and running through January 8th is Nothin' Productions' presentation of "Songs For A New World," at the Osceola Center for the Arts, located at 2411 East Irlo Bronson Highway in Kissimmee.

The show, written by Jason Robert Brown, is about one moment - or rather, isolated moments - in the lives of many characters, in a variety of eras.

With a passionate cast and a driving, exquisitely crafted score, "Songs For A New World" transports the audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue to meet a startling array of characters. They range from a young man who has determined that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage.

These are the stories and characters of today, the songs for a new world.

Tickets are on sale for general admission for only $10.00 and may be purchased from Nothin' Productions' website, at www.nothinproductions.com or by calling 321-297-0096.

Performance Run:

  • December 28-30, 2005 and January 6, 2006 7:30 p.m.
  • January 7, 2006 2:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
  • January 8, 2006 4:00 p.m.
