John Quiñones
Dear Citizens and Visitors,
It is with great pleasure that I present to you the 5th edition of the Osceola County Citizen's Handbook. Whether you are a new resident, have lived here for years or visit our area regularly, this handy reference guide provides useful information about local county government and Osceola County in general.
One of the goals of the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners is to keep our citizens informed of important issues, programs and services. We invite you to visit the section entitled "Get Connected with Osceola County." There you will find ways of learning what's going on with county government. As always, we strongly encourage citizens to become involved in their local government.
Citizens may also sign up as a Virtual Citizen on our website at www.osceola.org to receive quarterly updates from around the County from your Commissioners. You will also receive important information regarding public safety during times of emergencies.
The Citizen's Handbook begins with a history of Osceola County, followed by information to keep you informed, biographies of the County Commissioners and the Constitutional Officers and their roles in local government, the County Executive staff and their duties, county departments, important telephone numbers, local information and more. We encourage you to keep this reference guide near your telephone at work and home.
We hope you find the Citizen's Handbook helpful. For additional information, please call the Citizens Action Center at 407-742-2ASK.
Warm Regards,
John Quiñones
Chairman
