Rodeo Competitors Bring Joy to Give Kids The World

Osceola County, Florida - Competitors in the 2015 RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo visited Give Kids the World today, bringing some old-fashion cowboy and cowgirl joy to children with life-threatening illnesses.
In addition to a weekly riding event held at the non-profit, the young guests and their families got some lessons on the cowboy way of life from the competitors visiting the Osceola County landmark.
"Osceola County is fortunate that a compassionate non-profit such as Give Kids the World is based here," said Commissioner Viviana Janer, who participated in the event. "The work they do and the lives they touch is simply amazing. The network of volunteers is dedicated to one thing - leaving a lasting impression on these kids who are having a dream vacation.”
The competitors started arriving in town over the weekend for the RNCFR, which started its four-day, five-session run Wednesday at Osceola Heritage Park.
"It was heart-warming to be able to work with these kids and their families today," said Juan Alcazar, Jr., a St. Cloud High graduate who was scheduled to compete Wednesday night in the steer wrestling event. "It’s an honor to be in a position where we can give back to community that is hosting us for this event."

ABOUT THE RNCFR
The tournament-style RNFCR determines the national circuit champions in each event. All 24 qualifiers from the 12 circuits compete in the two preliminary rounds of the rodeo. The top eight contestants from each event advance to the semifinal round, with all previous scores and times thrown out. The top four move on to the final round – a sudden-death competition that determines the national circuit champion in each of the 7 standard rodeo event.
Contestants will compete for more than $650,000 in prize money. Event winners receive a $20,000 voucher for a new RAM vehicle, a Polaris RANGER UTV, a pair of exotic boots from Justin Boots, trophy saddle from Cactus Saddlery, and a custom Montana Silversmith buckle, in addition to their winnings.
In addition to live rodeo action, fans will have the chance to experience a jam-packed event lineup including a cattle drive, the Florida Heritage BBQ Classic sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, a Fan Zone and live entertainment.
