Osceola.org Feature Spotlight

The internet has changed the way we read news. Blogs have become a household name, newspapers are available online, and even cable news shows reference their own twitter feeds.

The Osceola.org Network of Websites has also changed in order to take on some of the best features found throughout the web for sharing news concerning Osceola County Government and its related agencies. Here is a list of some of our newest and most exciting features for displaying and sharing news.

Photos and Image Galleries

One of our most requested features for the newest version of our website was the addition of more color and life into every page. One of the ways we hope to accomplish this was by adding the ability to show more photos across our site. Every page that has more than one image or photo now gets its own image gallery. 

Tags for Finding Similar Stories

If you are reading a story about the ground breaking on a new community park like this story, and were interested in learning about other community parks in Osceola County, you could click on the tag link at the bottom of the page labeled ‘Community Park’. Following that link would take you to a special page showing you every other page or news story across our network also associated with community parks. 

Location, Location, Location!

We love location so much that in this version of our website we have allowed it to be integrated with just about anything. News stories can now be pin pointed on a map letting people know not only where it happened, but how to get there if they wanted to.

And once we took the leap to show you where this story was happening, we realized it was only a small leap to allow you to see news stories that were also happening nearby. If you were reading a news story about an event coming to Osceola Heritage Park, why not see other news happening at Heritage Park, or even the Osceola Stadium that is right next door.

We think our readers might like to know wherever a news story has been referenced somewhere else on one of our websites. At the bottom of a news story you will see an area that lists every other page on our website that references the story. This works in much the same way as tags to help you find other news and information related to the news story you are reading.
