Welbro/Quinn Constructors and Osceola County Economic Development Department will host a construction job fair to fill positions related to the West Osceola Library project. The event will take place on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Osceola Cooperative Extension Services from 9 to 11 a.m.

The Osceola County Clerk to the Board is currently seeking applications for the 2012 Value Adjustment Board (VAB) Special Magistrates to conduct hearings. The deadline for applying for Tangible Personal Property Appraiser, and Attorney Special Magistrates will be July 06, 2012.

The ease of doing business in downtown Kissimmee increased with the ribbon-cutting of a new 802-space Courthouse Square Parking Garage on Monday.
On March 30th, 2012, the Osceola Energy Initiative (OEI) saw the first group of 12 Interns graduate from its Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Certification Program. During the four weeks of class training the interns received OSHA 10-Hour Hazard Recognition Training, DOE Florida Weatherization Technician Training, and the opportunity to achieve Green Advantage® Certification. Upon completion they were immediately placed with OEI Participating Contractors.

A significant increase in the number of permit and license applications submitted via the Internet and fax is resulting in a change in office hours for the Osceola County Permitting Intake Office, officials said. The office, located at 1 Courthouse Square, Suite 1400, will close at 4 p.m. daily starting Monday.

Viewing of a popular nesting site for American bald eagles will again be accessible because the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved an agreement with the developer of the property this week that provides for safety standards for the public and complies with federal laws regarding the protected species.

The (Osceola County) Museum of Military History is now open, welcoming both visitors and locals to experience the nation's military heritage. Located at 5210 W. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee, the 10,000-square-foot museum offers guided and self-guided tours of its interactive displays and exhibits of historical photos, uniforms and more highlighting the contributions of all of the armed forces during conflicts spanning the Civil War to the present.

Osceola County Commissioners recently moved forward with steps to improve a section of its East U.S. Highway 192 corridor. Commissioners unanimously approved establishment of an East U.S. 192 Community Redevelopment Agency board for a 2.8-mile segment of U.S. 192 stretching from Kissimmee City limits to Partin Settlement Road.
Beginning Tuesday, May 1st, the Osceola County Permitting Intake Office's new office hours will be 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Thursday, and 9:00am - 4:00pm on Fridays. Visit the www.osceola.org for further information.
Leaders to Promote “Healthy Counties, Healthy Families”
Osceola County, Florida - Osceola County will celebrate National County Government Month (NCGM) during the month of April to highlight county government programs and services to the public. The theme for this year's celebration of NCGM is "Healthy Counties, Healthy Families."

Exterior and Interior Finishes in Progress
Inside the Garage, the remaining concrete wash pours were completed on Friday, March 16th. In the courtyard between the Garage and the Administration Building, the dedicated fire line, domestic water and irrigation services have been installed in addition to the storm drain basins and piping.
