The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Special Meeting to discuss the Post Office lease in Buenaventura Lakes on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 3:00 p.m.

In observance of the Christmas holiday, Osceola County Administration offices and the Osceola County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, December 23rd and Monday, December 26th. Additionally, Osceola County Administration offices and the Osceola County Courthouse will be closed on Monday, January 2nd in observance of New Year's Day.

Crews from Centurylink have an emergency repair job that involves closing down the outside southbound through lane on John Young Parkway at Donegan Ave. Working hours are between 10:00 pm - 5:00 am starting Thursday night.

Osceola County Commissioners voted today in favor of outsourcing management of Osceola County Library operations, saving taxpayers an estimated $6 million over the next five years. LSSI could begin operations of the library system as early as January 3, 2012.

Due to ongoing construction, there will be a lane/traffic shift on Old Lake Wilson Road scheduled for Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
Today, Colt's Manufacturing Company, LLC announced its commitment to create 63 jobs in Osceola County for its new regional headquarters and product manufacturing center. The center will hire people for engineering and manufacturing jobs, among others. In 2012, Colt is projecting to begin phasing in the first of 63 jobs paying an average salary of $45,060 to be created during the following three years.
