Transportation Planning

The Transportation Planning group assists the Board of County Commissioners in establishing a multi-modal transportation system that promotes the values of sustainable development by increasing mobility options and promoting accessibility to economic, educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.

Services and Responsibilities

  • Advises on the policies in the Transportation Element of the Osceola County Comprehensive Plan
  • Research, develop, analyze, and coordinate alternative transportation modes inluding bus and rail
  • Roadway Feasibility Studies
  • Evaluate projects during development review to ensure consistency with County plans
  • Coordination and review of developer commitments
  • Transportation concurrency
  • Coordinate with regional, state, and federal on transportation issues involving Osceola County
  • Transportation databases related to travel forecasting and growth management
  • Maintain Capital Improvement Plan / Capital Improvement Element related to transportation
  • Develop and update impact fee methodology for transportation
  • Analyze proposed and adopted state and federal transportation legislation for impacts to the County
