The Edgewater Development of Regional Impact is a mixed use development of approximately 2972.0 acres. The development includes: a maximum of 7,000 single and multi-family residential units and 507,000 sq. ft. of retail services to include a mixed-use community center. This project will feature regional sports parks; neighborhood parks; pedestrian/bike facilities and linear street-side and lakeside parks; preserves; wildlife corridors; conservation areas; stormwater treatment facilities; social, public and community facilities; multiple school sites; extensive new road network; a transit stop; and an extensive internal lake system with private docks. The Edgewater DRI was approved by the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners on July 21, 2008. It has a project buildout date of 2027.
