The Harmony Development of Regional Impact was originally approved by the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners on October 5, 1992 under the name of Birchwood. The Development Order has been amended several times and has a current buildout date of 2025.The Harmony DRI is a mixed use development of approximately 11,031 acres. The development includes: a maximum of 7,200 single and multi-family residential units, 350,000 GSF of commercial space, 500,000 GSF of office space, and 1,000,000 GSF of light industrial space and appropriate support institutional uses to include, but not limited to, a high school. The Harmony DRI is based on the creation of a community using Traditional Neighborhood Development TND concepts and receiving the corresponding benefits to public infrastructure, service demands and anticipated quality of life.
