At their January 10, 2011 regular Board meeting, Osceola County Commissioners approved a transportation impact fee moratorium on all new non-residential construction.
The through lane and right turn lanes of eastbound Boggy Creek Road at Simpson Road are closed due to work being conducted to repair a 12-inch reuse main leaking under that part of the roadway. The pipe, which is 14 feet under the roadway, was accidentally hit by a directional drill company working onsite.
In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Osceola County Administration Offices, Libraries, the Bass Road Resource Recovery Site, and the Courthouse will be closed on Monday, January 17th. Offices will re-open on Tuesday, January 18th.
The Osceola County Legislative Delegation will meet on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Osceola County Commission Chambers, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Square, Suite 4100 on the 4th floor. Led by State Representative Mike Horner, the Legislative Delegation is comprised of state senators and representatives who represent in Tallahassee Osceola County residents.
Osceola County Commissioners proclaimed Monday, January 3, 2011 as Osceola County Military Appreciation Day at their regular Board meeting Monday. Recently-returned Osceola County School Board Member on military leave Julius Melendez accepted the proclamation, along with recently-returned county employee John Montague and local veterans.
