Osceola County, Florida – Osceola County Fire Chief Rich Collins and staff will host a community meeting open to the public to discuss Osceola County Fire Rescue's budget, levels of service and the proposed fire assessment fees for 2010-2011.
"This is a great opportunity for citizens to receive answers to their questions about the fire assessment fee," said Chief Collins. "Some mistakenly think the fire assessment fee is a new fee but it has actually been in place since 1989 as a fair and equitable means of providing funding for fire rescue services."
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Osceola County Commission Chambers located at 1 Courthouse Square, 4th floor in downtown Kissimmee, Florida. For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be streamed live and may be viewed on the County's website at www.osceola.org and click on "Live Board Meetings & Agendas" on the upper left hand side.
