  • 1.01) What conservation programs do you offer?
    The Osceola Soil and Water Conservation District offers the Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP), the Environment Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), the Forestry Incentive Program (FIP), and the Conservation Incentive Plan (CIP).
  • 1.02) How do I recognize a wetland on my property?
    The Osceola Soil Survey Map can provide that information when a legal address for the property in question is given.
  • 1.03) Can you provide soil types and hydrologic information about my property?
    Yes, we have a county soil survey book which details information regarding soil types and characteristics. Hydrologic maps and topographic maps are also available to provide a more detailed background about your property.
  • 1.04) Do you offer conservation programs to schools?
    Envirathon is an all day activity offered once a year to area high school students. Earth Kids 'R' Us provides hands on classes to area elementary school students.
  • 1.05) What is the best time of day to water my plants and how much should I give them?
    Either early in the morning or after sunset is the preferable time to water your plants. Approximately 1/2 an inch of water is more than enough for most plants, any more than that is a waste.
