The Osceola Soil and Water Conservation District has a supply of Osceola County Soil Survey and Osceola County Plat books available for sale for the following prices.

The soil survey provides general and detailed information on soil characteristics. The soil survey also charts each soil type according to it’s ability for specific practices and uses including septic tank absorption fields, sewage lagoon areas, tree plantings, wildlife areas, wetland plants, grasses, field crops, legumes, camp areas, picnic areas, playgrounds, erosion hazards, driveways, basements, ponds, soil temperature, tile drainage, growing seasons, high water table, permeability, organic matter and soil texture. The soil survey has an excellent section on describing soil properties and features.
The 2000 edition of the Plat book provides Section, Township and Range, owner’s names, number of acres, and road maps for Osceola County.
