Redistricting Advisory Committee

The Board of County Commissioners created a Redistricting Advisory Committee to accomplish its intentions by recommending any necessary or desirable changes to the boundaries of the current Commission Districts, based on the 2010 Census.

Affordable Housing Advisory Committee

Not less frequently than every three 3 years, the advisory committee shall review the established policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and adopted local government comprehensive plan of the appointing local government and shall recommend specific actions or initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of the property to appreciate in value. The recommendations may include the modification or repeal of existing policies, procedures, ordinances, regulations, or plan provisions; the creation of exceptions applicable to affordable housing; or the adoption of new policies, procedures, regulations, ordinances, or plan provisions, including recommendations to amend the local government comprehensive plan and corresponding regulations, ordinances, and other policies.

Board of Adjustment

Reviews appeals in the enforcement of zoning regulations.

CDBG Citizens Advisory Task Force

Increases public awareness of the function of the Community Development Block Grant program and the types of assistance available to low and moderate income residents.

Charter Review Advisory Committee

Conducts a comprehensive study of all phases of Osceola County government and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.

Code Enforcement Board

Conducts hearings in regard to code and ordinance violations and enforcement.

Enterprise Zone Development Agency

The EZDA was created as a joint endeavor of the City of Kissimmee and Osceola County and provides for the creation of an Enterprise Zone for areas with chronic and unacceptable economic problems. It also finds that revitalization of such areas can occur only if the private sector can be induced to invest. Businesses within an Enterprise Zone are eligible to receive tax credits, exemptions, and refunds in exchange for providing jobs and property rehabilitation.

Fire and Rescue Advisory Commission

Considers various operational and budgetary aspects of Osceola Countys fire services and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.

Gateway Advisory Committee

The Gateway Advisory Committee shall meet as frequently as necessary to assist the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners and/or the County Manager with identifying area concerns and contributions for the implementation of the most appropriate enhancement plan for the US 192 Corridor, Orange Blossom Trail and Narcoossee Road from the Osceola/Orange County Line to US 192.

Housing Finance Authority

Enables Osceola County to distribute mortgage funds to eligible citizens at lower interest rates.

Industrial Development Authority

Finances projects for public purposes and fosters economic development in Osceola County.

Land Conservation Advisory Board

Monitors and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners concerning acquiring and protecting conservation lands and natural resources on environmentally significant sites. Must be a resident of Osceola County throughout the term as well as have expertise in at least one of the following categories: conservation of natural resources, ecology, ecotourism or environmental education, land appraisal, land management, and real estate or land acquisition.

Library Advisory Board

Makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners through the Library Director regarding operations, policies and programs of the Osceola County Library System.

Parks & Recreation Committee

Reviews parks and recreation policies in order to improve services.

Planning Commission

Makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding the development of land through zoning and planning.

Tourist Development Council

Makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for the effective operational uses of the tourist development tax revenue. Must be an elector of Osceola County.

West 192 Economic Advisory Committee

The West 192 Economic Advisory Committee was established by the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners in December 2010 by Resolution. A defined study area was created, ½ mile on either side of 192. The committee is comprised of eight members. The purpose of the committee is to identify redevelopment and business retention opportunities, craft strategies to reduce/eliminate blight, encourage public and private investments and facilitate meaningful public involvement.
