Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Certification Program at the Technical Education Center Osceola (TECO)

The application period for the Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Certification Program has officially been closed. Thank you to all Osceola County residents who applied for this program to make it successful!
On March 30th, 2012, the first group of 12 Interns graduated from the Osceola Energy Initiative (OEI) Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Certification Program. During the four weeks of class training the participants received the OSHA 10-Hour Hazard Recognition, DOE Florida Weatherization Technician, and Green Advantage® Certification training.
Upon completion the participants were immediately placed with OEI Participating Contractors to receive on-the-job training until June 2012. During the on-the-job training, graduates receive hands-on training completing energy retrofits and upgrades, weatherization projects, HVAC upgrades and other practical energy efficiency experience at residences and businesses throughout the community.

A second group of 15 interns completed the Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Certification Program on June 22, 2012. The interns have been placed with OEI Participating Contractors to complete on-the-job training until August 31, 2012.
Through the OEI Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Certification Program, three interns have been placed into full-time jobs with either a participating contractor or other outside organization. We would like to thank all of the OEI partners for making this program a success!!!
