Road and Bridge Office
The mission of the Road and Bridge Office is to provide maintenance services to County-owned roads, rights of way and drainage systems in the unincorporated areas of Osceola County. This includes approximately 980 miles of paved roadways, 59 miles of county accepted unpaved roadways, 1600 miles of open roadside drainage systems, 300 miles of enclosed roadside drainage systems and 70 miles of outfall storm water drainage systems.
To that end, Road and Bridge operates field crews to maintain and grade dirt roads, repair potholes and other road damage, and perform "small-scale" resurfacing, renovation and construction projects.
Projects may include road widening and extensions, drainage system upgrades/improvements, turn lanes, and egress improvements.
Most "large scale" projects are contracted to private firms supervised by the Engineering Office.
