About Transportation and Transit
Construction Management is responsible for managing construction projects within the County’s rights-of-way. This consists of contract administration and construction inspection of various types of projects within Osceola County, including: road widening, new road construction, sidewalk construction, and signal and intersection improvements.
Traffic Engineering conducts traffic studies, analyzes crash data, performs signal design reviews, manages the annual traffic count program, issues signal warrants, performs special event reviews, and participates in the development review process.
Traffic Operations installs and maintains County signs, signals, roadway lighting, striping, and pavement markings.
Traffic Management Center
Provides Osceola County with accurate traveler information through different avenues using Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices and Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS). The Osceola County TMC provides coverage for selected roadways within Osceola County including, but not limited to County Roads, Toll Roads, State Roads, and US Highways. The TMC is tasked with the monitoring and reporting of traffic conditions on the designated highways within the County. This facility operates out of the County Emergency Operations Center.
Provides a balance between current, developing, and planned multimodal transportation systems by offering residents and visitors a safe, efficient, and balanced approach for the movement of people, vehicles, and goods. This is accomplished through inter-governmental and inter-agency coordination, innovative partnerships, completion of multimodal Project Development Processes, and participating in the development review process.
