Sinclair Road Extension Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study

The Sinclair Road Extension Project began in September 2021 with the launch of a Project Development & Environment (PD&E) study. The PD&E study has evaluated various alternative improvements and their impacts to the physical, natural, social, and cultural environments. The resulting proposed Preferred Alternative (the Blue Alignment) is a 4-lane divided roadway (with 11-foot lanes), a 22-foot raised median, 4-foot bicycle lanes in each direction, curb, and gutter, and 5-foot sidewalks on each side of the roadway. The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners approved the proposed Preferred Alternative on February 20, 2023, allowing the project to move forward through the final design, right-of-way, and construction process. The PD&E study is expected to be completed in June 2023, then followed by about 18 months of design and, ultimately, construction of the roadway. If additional right-of-way acquisition is needed to build the road, it will begin when the design is about 60% complete. Please check this website frequently for updates.
