Kissimmee Navigation Locks to Close for Underwater Inspections

Work is scheduled around local boating events

To ensure the future safe operation of navigation locks in the Upper Kissimmee Basin, several underwater inspections are scheduled in early December.

Divers will look for potential issues so they can be quickly addressed.

Inspection and closure dates are:

  • S-61 Navigation Lock at the south end of Lake Toho will be closed for inspection Wednesday, December 3, and Monday, December 15
  • S-65 Navigation Lock on the south end of Lake Kissimmee will be closed and inspected on Monday, December 1, and Tuesday December 2
  • S-65A Navigation Lock in the northern portion of the Kissimmee River will be closed and inspected Tuesday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 17
