Curfew Lifted after Improved Forecast

1. The improved 5 p.m. forecast track of Hurricane Dorian from the National Weather Service (NWS), which dropped Tropical Storm Warnings for Osceola County, has resulted in lifting a curfew that was set to go into effect tonight at 11 p.m.
   The latest information from NWS shows potential tropical storm squalls from Dorian will primarily affect the rural and largely unpopulated areas of eastern Osceola County. In the interest of public safety, the County waited for the 5 p.m. forecast to make the decision.
2. Osceola County, the City of St. Cloud and the City of Kissimmee will remain closed Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019. The school district is also closed Wednesday.
3. Osceola County has 422 people (as of 5 p.m.) housed in seven shelters throughout the County. Those shelters:
   • Harmony High School (Pet friendly)
   • Liberty High School (Pet Friendly)
   • Kissimmee Middle School (Pet Friendly)
   • St. Cloud High
   • Horizon Middle School
   • Celebration High School
   • Special Needs at Council on Aging
   
   The County has been coordinating with our local nonprofits to reach out to the homeless. They can contact the Citizen’s Information Center at 407-742-0000 and transportation to the nearest shelter will be provided.
   The Osceola County Special Needs Shelter opened Saturday at the Council on Aging. Individuals staying at the special needs shelter should bring medicine and other vital supplies. For more information, please call our Special Needs hotline at 407-742-9001.
4. There will be no curbside collection service today or Wednesday in the cities of St. Cloud and Kissimmee – or in the County. Stay tuned to government social media channels and local media outlets for updates on collection schedules.
5. Please remember a voluntary evacuation order has been issued for low lying areas and manufactured and mobile homes to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the community. If you live in one of these areas, you should access you situation and take appropriate action.
6. A news briefing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 in the media briefing room at the Emergency Operations Center.

1. El pronóstico del Huracán Dorian del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional conocido por sus siglas en inglés (NWS), descendió el aviso de tormenta tropical para el condado Osceola lo que resultó en que se retire el toque de queda que estaba supuesto a comenzar a las 11:00 de la noche de hoy martes.
   La última información de NWS muestra posibles rachas de tormenta tropical de Dorian que podrían primordialmente afectar el área rural y áreas que no están pobladas al este del condado Osceola. El condado tomó la decisión tras recibir el pronóstico de las 5:00 de la tarde.
2. Las oficinas administrativas del Condado Osceola, Ciudad de Kissimmee y Ciudad de St. Cloud permanecerán cerradas el miércoles, 4 de septiembre. Escuelas del condado Osceola permanecen cerradas el miércoles.
3. Hay 422 personas en los siete refugios del condado Osceola. Esos refugios son:

4. No habrá servicio de recogido de basura el miércoles, 4 de septiembre en el Condado Osceola, Ciudad de Kissimmee y Ciudad de St. Cloud. Verifique las redes sociales para recibir información actualizada sobre estos servicios.
5. Recuerde que hay una orden de desalojo voluntario que se emitió para zonas bajas o casas rodantes. Si reside en una de estas áreas debe evaluar su situación y tomar la acción apropiada.
