Hoagland Boulevard Improvements to Impact Marsh Landing Boat Traffic

Osceola County, Florida – Beginning February 10, contractors for Osceola County working on Hoagland Boulevard Phase 3 will be closing the Marsh Landing area to boat traffic while improvements to the bridge over Shingle Creek are completed.

Work at the site will involve the installation of pilings for a newly reconstructed bridge, as well as the demolition and removal of the existing bridge.

The estimated time for construction of this portion of Hoagland Boulevard Phase 3 is 8-10 months. During this time, the contractor will have in place a barricade of floating barrels both upstream and downstream of the bridge, which will prevent boat traffic from passing under the bridge. It is imperative for safety reasons that boaters respect the barricades.

Quick facts about Hoagland Boulevard improvements:

• Phase 3 begins at the southern end at U.S. Highway 17-92, and continues to just north of the Shingle Creek Bridge.
• The $10.7 million project consists of a four-lane divided roadway, with bike lanes and sidewalks along both sides and improvements to the Shingle Creek Bridge.
• Together with the planned Phase 2 improvements, the new Hoagland Boulevard will more efficiently and more safely move motorists, cyclists and pedestrians from U.S. 17-92 to U.S. Highway 192 upon completion, projected for 2020.

Mejoras a la carretera Hoagland Boulevard impactarán el tráfico de botes en Marsh Landing

Condado de Osceola, Florida – Comenzando el 10 de febrero, contratistas para el Condado de Osceola estarán trabajando en la fase 3 de mejoras a la Hoagland Boulevard, y por esta razón estarán cerrando el acceso a Marsh Landing hasta que finalicen las mejoras al puente sobre Shingle Creek.

Las mejoras incluirán la instalación de pilotes para el nuevo puente recién construido, así como la demolición y remoción del puente existente.

El tiempo estimado para construcción de esta fase 3 de la Hoagland Boulevard es de ocho (8) a diez (10) meses.  Durante este tiempo, el contratista colocará una barricada de barriles flotantes tanto río arriba como río abajo del puente, lo cual impedirá el tráfico de botes pasando debajo del puente.  Es imperativo por razones de seguridad que los navegantes respeten las barricadas.

Detalles sobre las mejoras a Hoagland Boulevard:

• La Fase 3 comienza al final de la US 17-92 al sur, y continúa justo al norte del puente de Shingle Creek.
• El proyecto de $10.7  millones consiste de una carretera de cuatro (4) carriles divididos, con carril para bicicletas, aceras a ambos lados y mejoras al puente de Shingle Creek.
• Junto con las mejoras planificadas de la Fase 2, la nueva Hoagland Boulevard proveerá más eficiencia y seguridad al mover los motoristas, ciclistas y peatones de la US 17-92 a la US 192 cuando esté completada, lo cual está proyectado para el año 2020.
