Janer Kicks Off ‘The HotSpot’ at BVL Library

Osceola County, Florida – A new 190-square-foot covered patio at the BVL Library known as “the HotSpot” opened to the public Thursday offering patrons access to the Internet in a more social setting, thanks to the efforts of Viviana Janer, the County Commissioner for District 2.
“This is a great new feature that will allow people to interact in a much more social environment without disrupting patrons inside the library. I thought this was a unique way to expand the library’s footprint – as well as its impact on the community,” said Janer. “I envision residents working on projects or surfing the internet on their own personal devices while sipping on a cup of coffee and enjoying a pastry from their favorite bakery, which is something you can’t do inside the library.”
The HotSpot is fully ADA accessible and offers seating for 7 and a convenient countertop workspace.
In addition to wi-fi access to the Internet, there are electrical power outlets for phone and computer charging/power, as well as a high-volume fan for ventilation and comfort of patrons.
The new area was designed and constructed to match and complement the architecture of the existing library building with an open plan for increased visibility and security. It includes round-the-clock lighting and a security monitor.

Condado Osceola, Florida – Un nuevo patio cubierto de 190 pies cuadrados en la Biblioteca BVL conocido como ‘The HotSpot’ se abrió al público el jueves ofreciendo a los usuarios acceso a Internet en un entorno más social, gracias a los esfuerzos de Viviana Janer, la Comisionada del Condado para el Distrito 2.
“Esta es una gran característica nueva que permitirá a las personas interactuar en un entorno mucho más social sin interrumpir a los usuarios dentro de la biblioteca. Pensé que esta era una manera única de expandir la huella de la biblioteca, así como su impacto en la comunidad,” dijo Janer. “Me imagino a los residentes trabajando en proyectos o navegando por Internet en sus propios dispositivos personales mientras toman una taza de café y comen un pastel de su panadería favorita, que es algo que no se puede hacer dentro de la biblioteca.”
The HotSpot es totalmente accesible según los requisitos ADA y ofrece capacidad para 7 personas y un cómodo espacio de trabajo con encimera.
Además del acceso wi-fi a Internet, hay enchufes eléctricos para cargar teléfonos y computadoras, así como un ventilador de alto volumen para la ventilación y la comodidad de los clientes.
