Osceola County Announces Safety Measures for Monday Meeting

Osceola County, Florida – In an effort to comply with the intent of Coronavirus (COVID-19) protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Florida Department of Health (FDOH), Osceola County will consider modifying its Commission agenda for March 16, 2020 to only items pertaining to County business.

The intent is to minimize the number of people attending the meeting for non-business items. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Board Chambers.

As part of this proposed action, the County Manager will ask the Commission to continue the following items to a date to be determined: 

  1. Presentation of the 2020 Woman Warrior awards as part of the celebration of Women’s History  Month;
  2. Recognition of the winner of the inaugural Severe Weather Awareness Art Contest to an Osceola County student by Chairwoman Janer, the Director of Emergency Management, and a representative from the Osceola Library System;
  3. Presentation of the Four Corners One Vision Initiative, presented by Tom Kohler, Senior Director of Economics with Community Solutions Group;

As it is not mandatory, it will also be recommended to delete the Public Form section of the agenda at the end of the meeting.

Osceola County will have hand sanitation stations outside of the County Administration Building along with informational signage advising the public that if they are not feeling well, are in an at-risk population, or have traveled overseas to not enter the building.
