Osceola County Officials Unveil New Babb Landing Playground, Pavilion

Osceola County, Florida – Osceola County is continuously improving Shingle Creek Regional Park. A new playground and pavilion were the latest additions unveiled Friday morning at Babb Landing.
“Shingle Creek Regional Park, like Osceola, continues to grow,” said County Commissioner Michael Harford, whose district includes the park. “Many people wanted a covered pavilion for events – so we built one. We also added the playground to our play area so children would have more to do.”
Shingle Creek Regional Park offers a unique blend of nature and history in a setting quietly hidden in our busy urban core area. Shingle Creek and the watershed of the Kissimmee Basin, known as the headwaters of the Everglades, continue to evolve and change. Visitors and residents alike are encouraged to experience Osceola’s history and natural beauty, as only nature can provide these unique natural settings. Included in this project, was the addition of about 90 pine and oak trees that were planted late last year, the trees will enhance the natural setting of the park, officials said.
“As we stand here today, we can’t help but remember our history – and the pioneers who made it when they settled here. History lives in this park – especially with the Welcome Center and Pioneer Village nearby,” Harford added. “If you have not been, you should check it out and support the work of the Osceola County Historical Society.”

Condado de Osceola, Florida – El Condado de Osceola continuamente realiza mejoras al Parque Regional de Shingle Creek. El viernes en la mañana dieron a conocer una nueva área de juegos y una glorieta en Babb Landing.
"El Parque Regional Shingle Creek, sigue creciendo", dijo el Comisionado Michael Harford, cuyo distrito incluye el parque. "La glorieta es la respuesta a muchas peticiones de nuestros ciudadanos de tener un lugar donde celebrar eventos. También añadimos al área de juegos para que los niños tuvieran más que hacer".
El Parque Regional de Shingle Creek ofrece una mezcla única de naturaleza e historia en un escondite silencioso dentro de una zona urbana y muy ocupada que es conocida como la cabecera de los Everglades. La historia vive en este parque – especialmente con el Centro de Bienvenida y la Villa de los Pioneros", añadió Harford. "Si usted no ha visitado el lugar, debería visitarlo y apoyar el trabajo de la Sociedad Histórica Condado Osceola".
