RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo Returns for 2nd Year of Exciting Competition

Osceola County, Florida – The RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo will bring a level of rodeo competition and excitement unlike any other to the dirt-covered floor of the Silver Spurs Arena starting April 7.
The thrilling elimination format that crowns national champions is one of the RNCFR’s signature features. The best cowboys and cowgirls from 12 national circuits in seven events will be competing to advance to Sunday’s lucrative Final Four.
In year two of a 10-year run, host Osceola County will be raising the bar on the fan experience and transforming the PRCA’s second-largest event into a signature affair with a brand-new “Tailgate Experience,” featuring food trucks and live music outside the arena every night of the rodeo.
“Right out of the chute last year our goal was to turn the RNCFR into the destination for competitors and rodeo fans, and we’re kicking it up a notch in 2016,” said Commission Chairwoman Viviana Janer. “With five themed shows over the course of four days, there’s something for casual and hardcore rodeo fans. We are making every effort to create a marquee event that draws more and more fans to Osceola County for top-notch rodeo action each and every year.”
Rodeo week launches Monday April 4 with a unique cattle drive through the streets of historic downtown Kissimmee. Cowboys, VIPs and some lively longhorn steers will leave Courthouse Square and be driven down Broadway to Dakin Avenue, where everyone will settle in at a modern version of the “ol’ watering hole” where the fans can mix and mingle with real cowmen and cow women. The drive recreates a little history and reflects on the days when Kissimmee was the “Cow Capital of Florida” and stray cattle were left penned by the courthouse until their owners claimed them. Today, Florida is still “First in Cattle” and with more than 100,000 head of cattle, we are home to both the largest and 10th largest cattle operations in the United States.
Competitors are eager to compete as part of Osceola County’s commitment to bring the RNCFR here was a 175 percent increase in the payoff. The circuit standouts are vying for more than $1 million in total cash and prizes, including buckles, saddles, RAM Truck vehicle vouchers and the coveted national circuit champion titles. Each champion will be awarded a $10,000 sponsorship from Osceola County.
Joe Frost from Randlett, Utah, will return to this year’s RNCFR to defend the bull riding title that he won last year representing the Wilderness Circuit.
“Winning last year was a big deal for me,” Frost said. “I’d been to the RAM National Circuit Finals (Rodeo) when it was in Oklahoma City in 2013 and ended up second. I was really excited to go back last year, especially since my brother (Josh Frost) and I both qualified and it was in Florida. He finished second and that was a special time for both of us. I’m really excited to go back this year.”
Last year’s event attracted a new kind of visitor to the area – rodeo fans, who are loyal to their sport and the tough men and strong women who compete in events around the country. County officials are convinced that by showcasing our dynamic community to these groups, the reach of Osceola’s tourism brand will continue to grow.
Tickets range in price from $15 to $25 for single event tickets depending on the performance. Kids 12 and under are free, except for Family Day Saturday afternoon when those 18 and under (or college students with IDs) are free. Parking for the RNCFR is free this year. Tickets for the entire series are $65 and the Silver Buckle tickets for the best seats in the house are still a reasonable $80 per night.

ABOUT THE RNCFR
The tournament-style RNFCR determines the national circuit champions in each event. All 24 qualifiers from the 12 circuits compete in the two preliminary rounds of the rodeo. The top eight contestants from each event advance to the semifinal round, with all previous scores and times thrown out. The top four move on to the final round – a sudden-death competition that determines the national circuit champion in each of the 7 standard rodeo events. Events are: saddle bronc, bareback, bull riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, and barrel racing.
Contestants will compete for more than $750,000 in prize money. Event winners receive a $20,000 voucher for a new RAM vehicle, a Polaris RANGER UTV, a pair of exotic boots from Justin Boots, trophy saddle from Cactus Saddlery, and a custom Montana Silversmith buckle, in addition to their winnings.

Condado de Osceola, Florida – Las Finales del Rodeo del Circuito Nacional RAM traen a partir del 7 de abril un nivel de competencia y emoción a diferencia de cualquier otro (rodeo) en los terrenos de la Silver Spurs Arena.
El emocionante formato de eliminación que corona a campeones nacionales es uno de los rasgos más destacados de la RNCFR. Los mejores vaqueros y vaqueras de 12 circuitos nacionales en siete eventos están compitiendo para sobrevivir y pasar al lucrativo evento del domingo de los cuatro finalistas.

La semana del rodeo inicia el lunes 4 de abril con una corrida de ganado única por las calles del centro histórico de Kissimmee. Vaqueros, VIPs y algunos bueyes de cuernos largos que saldrán del Courthouse Square y serán conducidos por la Avenida Broadway y Dakin, donde todos se instalarán en una versión moderna de los antiguos abrevaderos donde los fanáticos puedan mezclarse con reales vaqueros y vaqueras. La corrida recrea un poco la historia y se refleja los días cuando Kissimmee fue la "Capital de la ganadería de la Florida" cuando el ganado quedaba en la corte hasta que sus dueños los reclamaran.
