The Great Tornado Drill
Published on: Jan 5, 2016
This Wednesday, January 6, at 10:00 a.m., the Office of Emergency Management encourages everyone to evaluate what they would do during a tornado warning. A tornado drill warning will be broadcast on the NOAA Weather Radio at that time.
If possible, practice your tornado evacuation and sheltering plan at that time. Don't know what to do? Discuss your home family tornado shelter plan with your family and workplace plan with your management and co-workers today - don't wait until a real tornado occurs to figure it out. Tornadoes can happen at any time of the day. .
The El Nino weather pattern this year has emergency managers and meteorologists throughout the South concerned of the possibility of strong storms and severe tornadoes. While we hope this does not happen, it is important to be prepared.
