Marydia Community Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Less than one year ago, a fire station stood where the new Marydia Community Center is now located. A groundbreaking was held in December of last year, and now, after years of planning and a lot of dedication from community leaders, Osceola County employees and contractors, the new Marydia Community Center is now a reality.

Located at 707 Sawdust Trail, the 4,715-square foot building has been renovated and has many amenities, including a multi-purpose room for special events, a computer room and a warming kitchen.

The center's innovative design won an award for the architectural firm, Heery International, earlier this year and features an emphasis on natural light, and outside seating that is both warm and welcoming. Community residents will be able to participate in vocational, occupational and educational programs at the new center.

In this video, watch as community leaders cut the ribbon on the new facility and Chairman Frank Attkisson and Commissioner Michael Harford express their thoughts on what it means for the Marydia Community to have this gathering place for years to come.
