Take a Selfie with your Sheltee!

There are a lot of pets available at the Shelter right now, but we'd like to take the time this week to engage you, the community, and find out how things are going with your "Sheltee." And, if you have a pet that you adopted from the Osceola County Animal Services Shelter, a.k.a. a "Sheltee," we'd like to invite you to share your adoption story with all of us!

Please take a photo of your adopted pet, or with your adopted pet, tell us all about him or her, then post on your Facebook page and tag Osceola County Animal Services. It will show up on our page in our photo section, and we will find out what wonderful things have been happening to our former guests who now have forever homes with you!

The more people who submit photos with stories and tag our Facebook page, the better the Shelter's chances of winning the grant! So grab that camera and get that glamour shot, or goofy shot or action shot and tell us all about your "Sheltee!" Thank you, Osceola County, for opening up your hearts and your homes to these wonderful animals.

If you don't have a "Sheltee," you can get one this weekend at the Big Hugs for Big Mugs adoption event, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. Then you will have a Sheltee to call your own! Dogs are only $20 to adopt and the fee for cats is waived. The fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and county tag.

The Community Engagement Competition, which is part of the ASPCA/Rachael Ray $100K Challenge, continues through August 31st, so you still have time! Come see us at the Shelter and adopt your new forever friend.

Keep an eye on the Shelter's Facebook page for continuing specials all Summer long! Please also keep in mind that the animals' stay at the Shelter is EXTREMELY limited, and they may or may not be available when you arrive.

The Shelter is located at 3910 Old Canoe Creek Road in St. Cloud, or to find out what animals are available, check the adoptable pets on the Osceola County Animal Services website at http://www.osceolacountypets.com. You can also find Osceola County Animal Services on FACEBOOK at http://www.facebook.com/OsceolaCountyAnimalServices.
