Osceola County News Brief - KUA Dedicates Domingo Toro Substation

Kissimmee, FL - November 8, 2019 -Vice Chairwoman Viviana Janer joined the Kissimmee Utility Authority board of directors as they officially dedicated the new Domingo Toro Substation. This substation is the largest electrical substation in KUA's service area.

The $20 million substation is now powering customers in east Kissimmee, including the Neptune Road residential corridor as well as the Bridg fabrication facility, The OC office building and the NeoCity Academy in NeoCity—a new 500-acre master-planned technology district being developed by Osceola County.

Later this year, two additional feeders will be completed at the substation to power Osceola Heritage Park and surrounding area.

The substation honors Domingo Toro, the utility’s first Hispanic board member. Domingo served from 1997 until 2007 in a variety of roles, including director, assistant secretary, secretary and vice-chairman.
