Plan Review Process
After we receive your completed permit submission, copies of the application and blueprint plans are forwarded to the necessary departments for review.
Commerical building permits will typically require the following departmental approvals:

Building approval consists of separate reviews from different trades which include:
Plans are reviewed in the order they are received by our staff. It takes 3 to 4 weeks for the Building Office to review and issue comments on commercial buildings.
Permit applications for residential buildings are reviewed and approved by the Building Office within 5 business days if drawings are in compliance with the minimum requirements of the code. It takes around 2 weeks to review townhouses.
If drawings are found with non-compliance code items, you will be notified that corrections must be made. It is expected that the applicant will submit revisions to address our review comments. To read more about submitting corrections, go to our Processing Revisions page.
