Osceola County Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Osceola County Commissioners will host a reception Tuesday (October 7) in the lobby of the Osceola County Administration Building located at 1 Courthouse Sq, Kissimmee, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

"It's an honor to host the event. It gets better and better every year. Osceola County understands and values the deep heritage and influence Hispanics contribute to our nation," said County Commissioner John Quiñones. "I'm proud that we honor these accomplishments with activities that showcase and celebrate the richness and diversity in social cultures." This year international Salsa and Latin Pop singer Jerry Rivera will be honored at the event. Sentimiento Latino will perform Puerto Rican folkloric music, Unidos por Ecuador will perform Ecuadorian folkloric music and Tertulia 4 Gatos will perform Colombian folkloric music.

The celebration includes artwork exhibited by local artists, including: Pedro Brull, Isabel Alberti, Carlos Alberto Quintero, Julio Sanchez, Ana Caravias, Blanca Rosado Bravo, Jerry Fortis, Davis O. Fortis, Rocio Lainez, Xiomara Aleksic, John Martinez, Nhora Suttinger and John Aranza Arevalo. The work of these talented artists will be displayed in the lobby of the administration building for the entire month.

"Our ethnic heritage is an important part of who we are as it characterizes traditions, our ancestors, different celebrations and cultural legacy," said Quiñones. "In Osceola County, we treasure the opportunity to recognize the diversity that makes this county a great place to live, work and play."

El Condado de Osceola Celebra El Mes de la Herencia Hispana

Condado de Osceola, Florida – En celebración del mes de la Herencia Hispana, los Comisionados del Condado de Osceola ofrecerán una recepción el martes, 7 de octubre en el vestíbulo del primer piso del edificio de Administración del Condado de Osceola.

"Es un honor ser sede para este evento. Cada año se pone mejor. El Condado de Osceola entiende y valora las gran herencia e influencia que los Latinos han contribuido a nuestra nación,” dijo el Comisionado del Condado John Quiñones. "Me siento orgulloso de honrar estos logros con actividades que muestran y celebran la riqueza y diversidad en las culturas sociales."

Este año, el Cantante de Salsa Internacional y Pop Latino Jerry Rivera será honrado en el evento. Sentimiento Latino interpretará música folklórica de Puerto Rico, Unidos por Ecuador interpretarán música folklórica ecuatoriana y Tertulia 4 Gatos interpretarán música folclórica colombiana.

La celebración incluye exhibición de obras de arte por artistas locales, incluyendo: Pedro Brull, Isabel Alberti, Carlos Alberto Quintero, Julio Sanchez, Ana Caravias, Blanca Rosado Bravo, Jerry Fortis, Davis O. "En el Condado de Osceola, atesoramos la oportunidad de reconocer la diversidad que hace este condado un gran lugar para vivir, trabajar y jugar."
