Emergency Management

There are many health care providers that serve the residents and visitors of Osceola County and their various special needs.  Osceola County Office of Emergency Management works with our health care partners to make certain that we are best prepared to respond to all the hazards that may impact our community.  To ensure the safety and care of all patients and health care facility residents during these potential emergent situations, most health care facility types are required to prepare a comprehensive emergency management plan which must be kept current and approved annually in order to maintain their licensure.  Depending on the facility type, the plans are reviewed and approved by either the local Florida Department of Health office, or the local county emergency management office.

The most current criteria for preparing the comprehensive emergency management plans can be found on the Agency for Health Care Administration’s website.

Those facilities required to submit their comprehensive emergency management plans to the local Florida Department of Health office include:

  • Home Health Agencies
  • Home Medical Equipment Providers
  • Hospices
  • Nurse Registries

Instructions for these facilities to submit their plans can be found on the Agency for Health Care Administration’s website.

Those facilities required to submit their plans to the local county emergency management office include:

  • Adult Day Care Centers
  • Ambulatory Surgery Centers
  • Assisted Living Facilities
  • Hospitals
  • Intermediate Care Facilities
  • Nursing Homes
  • Residential Treatment Centers for Children and Adolescents
  • Transitional Living Facilities

These facilities must submit their plans to Osceola County Office of Emergency Management using the Health Care Facility Emergency Management Portal:
