Building Permit Fees

The links below provide the fees associated with commercial and residential building permits in Osceola County. Fees are due at the time of pulling the permit unless otherwise noted.

Please note: This information is provided to assist in estimating approximate figures and is not intended to establish the final fees for permits.

Commercial Permitting Fees

Building Permit Fee

Based on the calculated valuation cost of the building and applying fee multipliers as per Osceola County Fees Resolution. The calculated valuation of the building is determined by multiplying the building gross area by the unit cost of construction Building Gross Area x Unit Cost of Construction depending on the construction type and occupancy of the building as per the Building Valuation Data published by the International Code Council ICC and dated August 2005.

Building Plan Review Fee

Calculated at a rate of 50% of the Building Permit Fee. This fee is additional to the Building Permit Fee and is due at the time of permit application.

Archival Fee

A county building archival fee is a fee that is charged to offset the costs associated to the State of Florida mandated Records Retention and Records Management requirements.

Calculated at a rate of 3% of Building Permit Fee.

Fire Plan Review Fee

The county building fire plan review fee is a fee that is charged by the county government for reviewing the fire safety plans of a building. Calculated at 0.001 x construction costs, with a $20.00 minimum.

Radon Fee

A radon fee is a fee charged by the county building department to test for radon gas in a building. The fee is calculated as a percentage of the building permit fee and is due at the time of permit application. Calculated at 2.5 % or $4.00 whichever is greater of the permit fee.

Technology Fee

A technology fee is a fee that is charged by the county government to offset the costs associated to technology related items, such as computer purchases, software purchases, inspector technology aides, and any other electronic devices used to provide a greater degree of customer service and reduce response time in providing permits and inspections. Calculated at 3% of Building Permit Fee.

Transportation Impact Fee

Assessed at time of application and due at permit issuance. Visit the Impact and Mobility Fee Office for more information.

Residential Permitting Fees

New Residential Construction

Fees are based on total square footage of building under roof. Plan Review Fees are due at time of submittal.

Archival Fee

  • 3% of Building Permit Fee

  • 0000 - 1599 sq ft: $400.00 plus $20.00 Plan Review Fee
  • 1600 - 1999 sq ft: $480.00 plus $20.00 Plan Review Fee
  • 2000 - 2999 sq ft: $560.00 plus $40.00 Plan Review Fee
  • 3000 - 3999 sq ft: $640.00 plus $40.00 Plan Review Fee
  • 4000 sq ft & over: $720.00 plus $80.00 Plan Review Fee

Fire Marshal Fee

  • $30.00 if applicable

Radon Fee

  • $00.01 times square feet of total area

New Mobile Home Set-Up

Archival Fee

  • 3% of Building Permit Fee

Building Fee

  • $160.00

Mobile Home Replacement

Please note: School Impact Fees, Transportation Fees, Fire Rescue Fees, Fire Impact Fees, Park Impact Fees, or Solid Waste Fees are not due for replacements.

How to Make a Payment

Permit fees may be paid using one of the following methods:

  1. Online using the Osceola County Permit Center. Login to your account, locate the permit you want to pay for, and complete checkout. Please reference our instructional video for assistance.
  2. In person at our Permitting Front Desk at 1 Courthouse Square, Suite 1400, Kissimmee, FL 34741. We accept payments by check, money order, cash, or credit/debit cards (Visa and Mastercard only).
  3. You may establish a Trust account in the Contractor’s name and payment can be made from this account towards any permit issued under that contractor’s license number. Credit card payments and trust account payments may also be requested over the phone or by fax.
