Viviana Janer was elected to the County Commission in 2014 and is currently serving her third term.
Commissioner Janer serves as the Vice-Chairwoman of the Metroplan Executive Committee, Vice-Chairwoman of the Metroplan Personnel Committee, Vice-Chairwoman of the Metroplan Finance Committee, and Secretary of the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission (SunRail). Commissioner Janer also serves on the LYNX Board of Directors, the LYNX Oversight Board, the Tourist Development Council, and the FAC Institute of County Government. She served as Chairwoman of the County Commission in 2016, 2020, 2023, and 2025.
Commissioner Janer was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and raised in New York City. She believes education is the key to success having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Public Accounting and later a Master of Business Administration with academic honors. She has more than 20 years of experience in corporate accounting.
Commissioner Janer's goal is to continue improving the quality of life for the residents in Osceola County. She continues to be passionate about enhancing our infrastructure and transportation as well as creating affordable options so that residents have housing alternatives that fit their budgets. In addition, she’s been an active advocate for the creation of high-paying jobs through economic development and is passionate that residents have all the tools needed to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
