Yuberky Almonte obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Trenton State College in 1994. She began her career in 1995 at Monroe County Jail in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and transferred to Lehigh County Prison in 1997. In 1999, she relocated to Florida and began working at Osceola County Corrections Department in 2000. Almonte is an active Field Training Officer, and a CMS Techniques Instructor. She has held various positions during her career in corrections, including Corrections Officer, Classification Counselor, Case Manager, Senior Case Manager, Internal Affairs Investigator, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and Major. In 2023 she was promoted to Deputy Chief and later that year, she was promoted to Chief of Corrections.
Deputy Chief Laura Rivera

Deputy Chief Laura Rivera is a dedicated corrections professional with over 22 years of progressive experience in Corrections. Since starting her career as a Certified Correctional Officer in 2002, she has risen through the ranks, earning a reputation for strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to excellence in correctional management.
In her current role as Deputy Chief, she continues to lead with a focus on strategic planning, organizational development, and public safety initiatives. Her work supports a department-wide mission to maintain safe, humane, and secure correctional operations.
Deputy Chief Rivera holds a master’s degree in criminal justice leadership and management from Sam Houston State University and a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Central Florida. She is a graduate of several leadership programs including the FDLE Leadership Academy, the National Jail Leadership Command Academy, the Certified Public Manager Program, and the Certified Corrections Manager Program.
She has also served as a Florida Model Jail Inspector for more than a decade and currently contributes as an assessor for the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission, reflecting her deep commitment to accountability and professional standards.
Major Victor Ruiz

Major Victor Ruiz has over 23 years of experience within the Corrections profession. He began his career with the Osceola County Corrections Department in 2001 as an Officer, climbed through the ranks, where he held Lieutenant level for approximately 11 years.
Major Ruiz is a graduate of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's (FDLE) Senior Leadership Program and the National Jail Leadership Command Academy. He is also certified as an inspector for both the Florida Model Jail Standards and the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission. Over the course of his career, Major Ruiz has served in several key roles, including Security Threat Group Coordinator for approximately five years, Valencia Defensive Tactics Instructor for four years, and managed Accreditation and Courthouse Operations for three years.

Marlon Denson has a wealth of knowledge and experience in Corrections, spanning over twenty-five years. He started his career with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice in 1998, working in detention and case management. From there he gained experience and started his career with the Florida Department of Corrections (DOC) at Madison Correctional Institution in 2000. While at Madison C.I., he honed his skills by working confinement, general population, control room, transportation, visitation, and at the work camp. In 2006, he relocated to Central Florida and began his career at the Osceola County Corrections Department. In 2011, he achieved the rank of corporal, was promoted to sergeant in 2014, and later to lieutenant in 2020. In 2023, he was promoted to captain.
He has attended numerous trainings, including Instructor Techniques, Field Training Officer, and Advanced Report Writing. During his time here, he was instrumental in the mentoring, coaching, and training of supervisory staff, as well as the recruitment of new officers. He is a graduate of the Florida Leadership Academy, National Jail Leadership Command Academy, various leadership training courses, and is currently an active Florida Model Jail Standards Inspector. He is also a veteran of the United States Army, where he honorably served his country.

Captain Hube has dedicated over 23 years to the correctional field. His journey began with the Osceola County Corrections Department in 2001, later obtaining his Correctional Officer Certification upon completion of the academy in 2003. He was promoted to the rank of corporal in 2006 and promoted his way up, holding the rank of lieutenant for 13 years, gaining extensive operational knowledge.
Captain Hube holds an FMJS Inspector certification and has continuously pursued professional development in diverse areas, including certifications from the National Jail Leadership Academy and the Public Safety Leadership Development Certification Program.

Captain Niquinia Sherwood's professional journey in the correctional field began in 2007 as a corrections officer with the Florida Department of Corrections at Lake Correctional Institution. She dedicated four years serving in this capacity before transitioning to the Osceola County Corrections Department. During her tenure she has fulfilled several roles including corporal, sergeant, and lieutenant.
Captain Sherwood’s professional development includes certifications in Instructor Techniques and Defensive Tactics Instructor, Florida Model Jail Standards (FMJS) Inspector, the National Jail Leadership Command Academy (NJLCA), Public Safety Leadership Development Certification Program, and the Senior Leadership Program (SLP).

Captain Darryl Hanna’s professional journey in the correctional field began in 2009 with the Florida Department of Corrections. He transitioned to the Osceola County Corrections Department in 2011, where his professionalism and dedication quickly led to advancement. In 2013, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal, followed by a promotion to Sergeant in 2015. In addition to his correctional career, Captain Hanna began serving in the U.S. Army in 2016. In 2021, his continued leadership and operational oversight earned him the rank of Lieutenant.
Captain Hanna has collaborated with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) since 2015 as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Corrections Advisory Team. In this capacity, he has contributed valuable insights to enhance correctional standards and practices across the state, demonstrating his expertise and dedication to the advancement of the profession.
Captain Hanna’s professional development includes specialized training in Field Training Officer, Line Supervision, Middle Management, and the Florida Leadership Academy.

Captain Michael Negron’s experience in the correctional field spans over 20 years. He began his career as a correctional officer with the Osceola County Corrections Department in 2004, and has since held various roles such as serving on the gang unit, acting as a field training officer, and contributing to the CERT team. During his tenure, he has fulfilled several roles including corporal, sergeant, and rank of lieutenant which he held for approximately 13 years.
Captain Negron's professional development includes specialized training certifications in Encompassing Instructor Techniques, Field Training Officer, and Gang Investigator, and he is a distinguished graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy.

Ms. Rivera has over 37 years of experience within the field of corrections. She began her career as a corrections officer with Orange County in March 1984. She was assigned to Central Booking for 5 years and also worked as a reserve deputy sheriff for Orange County simultaneously. In 1988, she was promoted to a classification officer and held that position for over 19 years until she retired in May of 2008.
In 2009, Ms. Rivera was hired as a Central Processing Unit Supervisor with Osceola County. In 2011, she became the Classification Supervisor and assisted with implementing the new housing reorganization and the rejuvenated Program Pod. In June 2015, Ms. Rivera was promoted to Unit Supervisor and during her 6 years as a Unit Supervisor, Ms. Rivera was responsible for Bonds & Dockets, Courts, Classification, Programs, and Inmate Affairs.
In February 2022, Ms. Rivera was promoted to Inmate Services Manager and currently oversees County Probation, Community Corrections, Classification, Inmate Programs, Courts, and Bonds and Dockets. Ms. Rivera has an Associates of Arts from Valencia College and as of May 2022 she completed the Public Safety Leadership Development Certificate Program through Valencia College.

Manager John Cooper’s professional journey with the Osceola County Corrections Department began in 1990. Throughout his tenure, he has fulfilled various roles including correctional officer, internal affairs investigator, watch commander, accreditation manager, and lieutenant for Support, Training, and Courthouse Operations. His professional development includes certifications as an inspector for FMJS, FCAC, and FCAC Manager, completed multiple investigative courses, serves as a FDLE general studies instructor, and is a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy. In his current capacity as the Quality and Risk Control Manager, he oversees the Accreditation Division, managing areas such as records retention, PREA, and Inmate Affairs.

Sharon Chauharjasingh began her employment with Osceola County in March 2005 with the Office of Management and Budget. Sharon is a veteran of the United States Air Force and holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Boston University with a minor in Accounting from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. In 2021, she transitioned to the Corrections Department as the Finance Business Manager, bringing her expertise in Budgets, Capital Improvement Projects, Contract Management, and overall Management.
As the Business Manager Sharon is responsible for the department’s accounting functions to ensure compliance with state statutes and generally accepted accounting principles. She manages the payroll process ensuring adherence to Fair Labor Standards Act and County Policies; preparation of the annual fiscal budget, capital improvement projects, and fee renewals in accordance with County guidelines. She oversees over fifty departmental contracts ensuring contract compliance, timely renewals and solicitation processes, and functions as the liaison between Corrections and the Procurement Office. Sharon also administers departmental grants; ensures compliance with various departmental Operating Procedures pertaining to financial and accounting processes, employee uniform distribution, and fixed assets.

Amy Vitani's has over 19 years of dedicated correctional healthcare experience with 11 years as a healthcare administrative professional managing correctional facilities, improving patient care, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Amy's public safety career began in 2005 at the Brevard County Jail where she held several roles including, Pharmacy Coordinator and Utilization Manager of Pharmacy Services, and Health Services Administrator. She later transitioned to Palm Beach County where she served as a fulltime first responder.
In 2022, Amy began her dedicated service to the Osceola County Corrections Department as the Assistant Healthcare Administrator. Her professional development includes certifications in CCHP (Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional), Registered Pharmacy Tech, EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and serves as a FMJS medical inspector and CPR instructor.
