Supplier Development Initiative

The Supplier Development is a specialized initiative that helps local small businesses. It does this through the following functions:

provide guidance on doing business with Osceola County;
inform businesses about upcoming contract opportunities;
advocate for the continued growth and success of Osceola County’s small businesses;
plan, host, and support Osceola County business events targeted to small businesses;
issue a Certificate of Reciprocity for Florida-based woman-, veteran-, and minority-owned small businesses.

The development works with:

Minority / Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE)
Service-Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SDVBE)

Osceola County encourages Minority-Women Business Enterprises and Service Disable Veteran Business Enterprises to participate in the procurement process. As such, the County shall use its best efforts to award Contracts to eligible MWBE and SDVBE vendors for goods, services and construction.

If a firm has been issued M/WBE Certification with any Florida governmental agency, FMSDC or WBENC, the County will honor the current valid certification through reciprocity.

To be added to the Osceola County database, firms will need to complete an application for reciprocity (available below) and submit it along with a copy of their current certificate:

Firms outside of Osceola County are advised to seek certification with one of the many M/WBE certifying Florida governmental agencies, FMSDC, or WBENC, and apply for reciprocity with Osceola County.
