Planning Commission

The Planning Commission, as defined in F. S. Ch 163, acts as the "local planning agency" and is primarily responsible for Osceola County’s comprehensive planning program. This includes preparing the Comprehensive Plan or amendments to it, and making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners about adopting or amending the Comprehensive Plan.

Furthermore, the Planning Commission also functions as the "Land Development Regulation Commission". In this role, it can create and review proposed land development regulations, codes, or amendments. It then makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners about whether these proposals are consistent with the adopted comprehensive plan or its elements.
